Racing Information Services Australia (RISA)

Authorities. RISA’s shareholders are Racing NSW, Racing

Wagering Western Australia, Thoroughbred Racing SA,
Tasmanian Thoroughbred Racing Council, Thoroughbred

RISA was formed in 2003 following the purchase of the Racing
Services Bureau, Trainers Service Centre and the Registrar
of Racehorses. At this time the role of protecting the
Thoroughbred’s Race Fields, Race Form and Race Results along
with the role of commercializing this Racing Information was
transferred to RISA. With the mission statement of ‘One
Process, One System’ RISA also commenced at this time the
process of delivering a range services to the Thoroughbred

In March 2006 RISA was restructured which included changes
to enable the appointment of an independent Director and
Chairman, the entry of the last Principal Racing Authorities
as a Shareholder and a new Management structure. In August
2006 a new strategic plan was adopted and the ‘New RISA’ was
established.
